I finally finished reading TMTRD's book
Reflections on Home. Made. by Michael J. Baines, published by Witchcraft
This summer I partnered with The Man That Rescues Dogs and startup publisher Witchcraft to promote their first book launch: Home. Made. by Michael J. Baines. The short memoir offers a glimpse into Michael’s life before founding his Bangkok sanctuary and current day-to-day caring for hundreds of dogs.
In one word: Heartwarming.
Home. Made. is not a literary masterpiece. It’s not supposed to be. You don’t read this book for the perfect turn of phrase; you curl up with it for its stories, for its heart, for the connection you’ll inevitably feel to a tattooed man on another continent who cries—doesn’t just tear up, but becomes unable to speak—when he thinks about the death of his dog. And, of course, because 70 percent of the royalties go directly to TMTRD’s operations. (I’d make that donation even if I didn’t get a book out of it.)
