So many words! I love it. I just wish Substack would notify me in the web version when someone I subscribe to has posted something new. Maybe it does, and I'm missing something? Some of your posts show up in my Home feed, but not all.
I also wish I better understood exactly how the functionality works! I am too new to it, and not sure how to strike the best balance of "never overwhelming anybody with notifications" (because, ew, we all have enough info being shoved at us all the time online!) but also "actually sharing what I posted with people" (it does still feel a bit like void shouting). Either way... thank you SO much for all the kindness you've shown me in these last weeks.
"Void shouting" is MY new favorite phrase! Peanut, a goat I take care of, does a lot of "void shouting" when she's in heat (just standing there, staring into the ether, screaming her head off), which makes it extra vivid and hilarious to me. Biology is weird. But likewise, thank you for the push to come over here and maybe share a little bit more, too. So far, it feels a lot more hospitable than most social media, and I'm enjoying reading all the words.
