Changes to our foster integration process over time
Since April, Sean and I have fostered five different dogs in our home—even though our resident heeler can be fear reactive to other canines.
Fostering wasn’t a decision we made lightly due to Scout’s discomfort around unfamiliar animals. While she’s successfully visited family with pets before, tackled group classes, and navigated a range of public environments, asking her to share her own home was a lot.
Thankfully, though? It’s gone better than I could have hoped for!
Here’s a look at how our foster integration process has changed over time, both as Scout’s grown more comfortable overall and as different ages & personalities have influenced our multi-dog household dynamic.
