Our favorite dog-safe cleaning products living in a van
Our small space gets dirty easily. But it’s also, well… small. Because there’s nowhere for Scout to get away from our cleaning endeavors, it’s more important than ever that everything we use in our home on wheels is pet safe.
Here are my go-to supplies now that we’ve been living in Hermes for almost a year!
What does it take to keep our van clean, anyway?
This article offers a deep dive into our most common van messes and typical cleaning schedule.
How we keep Scout (mostly) clean herself
Sean wrote about our general grooming responsibilities in this article a while back, and I recently compiled our favorite grooming products in this post, too.
Our favorite multi-purpose cleaners
For the countertop, tile backsplash, cab detailing, shower cabinet, and floor.
Everspring Multi-Surface Cleaning Wipes
I usually prefer sprays that I can scrub with a reusable towel, but there have been a few times these wipes are really handy. Especially helpful if we’re in need of a laundromat visit and washcloths are low in supply. Our own white vinegar, water, and lemon mixture
We store this in a leftover Everspring spray bottle. It’s a roughly one-to-one ratio of white vinegar and water. Sometimes I soak lemon wedges in the mixture or add a few drops of lavender essential oil too.
Our favorite glass cleaners
For the induction stovetop, fridge, mirror, and inside of the windows.
Our favorite deodorizers
For our shoe closet, Scout’s bed, the cab chairs, and miscellaneous needs.
Legendary Canine Fur Fresh spray
Designed to be sprayed directly on your dog’s coat, this spray also works like a charm on beds and blankets (and our cab chairs).Biokleen Bac-Out fabric refresher
The lavender scent is my favorite. We can find this at most Walmarts we visit when we run out!
